My (supposedly) Ideal Pet

So, I was surfing the web when I found this quiz that you can take on Animal Planet's website that tells you the ideal pet for you.  This is based off of the answers that you provide to questions on a quiz.  You can find the quiz at http://animal.discovery.com/pet-planet/pet-picker/

Guess what my ideal animal was? It was a FERRET!  The only pets that I have had are dogs, cats, rabbits, and turtles.  So, when they suggested I have a ferret as a pet, I flipped out!  What a surprise!  Anway, I guess they don't require as much time for care/cleaning as other animals would.  They just have always seemed kind of mean to me like they would bite you.  For me, I like soft and cudly animals in my house not mean ones with sharp teeth.  As a student and someone that does not own a home, I guess something like a ferret would be better than a dog.  At the same time, I doubt that you will ever see me carrying around a ferret as a pet.  Anyway, happy Tuesday, blogworld!

First Day of Summer Classes

So, I moved from my home town to go to school.  A few months after I arrived, I began teaching English to international students.  It's been almost 2 years since I've been here as a teacher at the university.  This summer I will not be taking classes.  So, I'll be able to focus only on teaching this summer since I'm not taking classes.

The first day of class was today and 6 out of the 9 students showed up.  I've taught 4 of them before.  The other 2 are returning students so their faces were atleast familiar.  They all seem to be good students, ready to learn, and excited to be here!  I'm looking forward to working with them and seeing their English improve over these next 2 months.

And the Journey begins!

Welcome to my new blog!  I will be posting songs and musings of this transient life that I find noteworthy.  Hope you find it to be enlightening and entertaining.

Recently, I went back home to visit family for my birthday.   While there, I was constantly reminded of the brevity of life.  We should cherish each moment that we have with our loved ones.  We never know how long we have (or how long they have).  I pretty much balled my eyes out the first few hours of the trip back to school.  Leaving never really gets easier.  As I prayed for my family members, I also concluded that I am leaving for a purpose.  I am called to get "on the road again" and follow the next part of the journey.  I'm thankful for these 30+ years that God has given me and seek to follow His path continually.  "On the Road Again" by Willie Nelson
